4.5 years ago I was opening a bottle of champagne (oh how I miss my bubbles!) and I cut my hand. The next day I had an Instructor Training at a new studio that was opening up on Union Street, Pilates ProWorks. JB got home and with my hand wrapped in a big bandage I said, “I don’t think I’m going to that training tomorrow, my hand hurts, I have a job, I mean, I just don’t know about it…”. JB replied, “You have to go, you already committed. Go on Day 1, if you love it, awesome, if you hate it don’t go Sunday.”
So began my journey at Pilates ProWorks! I started out as a very Part-Time Instructor teaching about 2-3 classes a week. That transpired into more classes and then shortly thereafter I became the Fitness Director. We had no idea what that meant at the moment but Oscar, Taylor, and I were soon full speed ahead! I traveled to Bogota, Colombia and also to New York City to help open and train amazing Instructors and people I now call friends.
In San Francisco a second studio opened in Financial District and soon after Mill Valley and Oakland. I have had the privilege of working with some of the most amazing Instructors I have ever met. I’ve made everlasting friendships that I hold dear to my heart. The clients who have been with me since the very beginning, and all of the ones I’ve met along the way, are truly my inspiration for building better programming, better classes, and better playlists. The clients are the heart and soul of why I have loved my job since the day I started. I owe immense gratitude to all of them.
Tomorrow marks my last day of classes before our beautiful baby boy is due in July. I’m so excited for the future and what it holds for J.B. And I. However, I can’t help but sit and reflect on an amazing roller coaster ride of 4.5 years at a studio I have called my “home away from home”.
THANK YOU to everyone who I have met, trained, taught, and who have loved every minute of it along the way with me. I will forever be grateful to each and every one of you.
A little photo collage in no particular order of fabulous memories I hold dear to my heart.
