Sunshine’s 6 day Slim Down

Sometimes we need a restart button for our bodies and our workout plan. This Sunshine 6 day Slim down is just what you need to recharge or to get ready for vaca! Always speak with your doctor for more specific information about your diet, exercise routine, and supplements.

It’s quite simple, for 6 days for the 6 rules below:

1. 60 minutes of cardio (20,10,20,10)

Do 60 minutes of cardio per day. I find that if I’m in the gym and do 4 pieces of equipment, for example 20 minutes on the elliptical, 10 minutes on the stair mill, 20 minutes on the treadmill, and 10 minutes on the rower. Other great ways to get in your 60 minutes are an hour walk and/or run, an hour cardio or dance class, and our of swimming, etc. MIX IT UP!!!

2. 66 ounces of water

We should drink at least half of our body weight in ounce of water. That equates to 4-6 bottles of water a day. (Make sure you recycle or better yet buy a reusable bottle!)

3. 6 small meals a days of about 200-300 calories each

This can be tricky as it takes some planning but here is a simple way to eat 6 meals a day: A piece of fruit on the go in the morning, a yogurt with 10 almonds once you have a minute, a salad of fresh veggies for lunch with balsamic vinegar and protein, hummus and carrots around 3pm when you hit that afternoon slump, steamed veggies and a protein for dinner, a piece of fruit for dessert.

4. 6 vitamins… a multivitamin

This rule is a little “grey”. Mostly I want you to find a multi-vitamin of some sort that you take everyday. Talk to your doctor for more specifics. I take a chewable Flintstone Vitamin, I know it’s a bit immature but it’s the only one I like and the only one I will take and I think that’s what matters the most!

5. 6 minutes of me time

Our lives are busy, busy, busy! Each of the 6 days take at least 6 minutes to yourself. Have a cup of tea, read an article, maybe just stare off into space (aptly calling it meditation when someone looks at you funny!).

In health and with grace,

Tricia
